For translators and interpreters replying to job postings
Please apply for the positions on this site or other assignments/projects only
if you are qualified and have experience in the field that is sought. Neither
the ATA nor the French Language Division is in a position to verify the skills of
translators or interpreters who apply for these jobs. Remember, only high-quality work will serve your clients' needs.
By the same token, neither the ATA or the French Language Division can vouch for
the agencies, companies, or individuals whose assignments/projects it
publicizes. What applies to all work applies particularly to work obtained via
the Internet: Protect yourself with a contract.
For agencies and companies posting jobs
We encourage translators, interpreters, and editors to accept assignments and projects
only if they are qualified and have experience in the field that is sought.
However, neither the ATA nor the French Language Division is in a position to
verify the skills of translators, interpreters, or editors who apply for posted jobs.
The individuals who reply to postings provide their own information to clients,
and neither the ATA nor the French Language Division attests to the validity of
the information given. When considering any translator, interpreter, or editor, be sure
to check references.
The ATA French Language Division reserves the right to reject any or all copy
submitted for inclusion on the FLD Web Site Jobs page, or to remove any copy
without notice. We will make every effort to avoid errors. However, in the event
of any error, regardless of origin or circumstances, neither the ATA nor the ATA
French Language Division will be liable for any loss or damages that may result.
