We’re about a week away from Washington’s only statewide Language Access Summit which will be held October 24th and 25th in Seattle, Washington.The theme of this year’s Summit is: “Got Language Access: Culture, Collaboration, and Solutions.” This Summit is particularly poignant as we mark the celebration of 50 years since the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by reflecting on past achievements and looking forward to the next 50 years of progress!

Join us and hear remarks from our Keynote Speaker: Washington State Supreme Court Justice, Justice Steve González. Join us also to hear from guest speakers Justice Mary Yu, Mr. Linh Thai from Congressman Adam Smith’s office, Senator Karen Keiser, Representative Cindy Ryu, and Representative Luis Moscoso. We are also very pleased to have with us Claudia A’zar, Glenna White, and Diana Meredith presenting a training on improving your interpreting skills.

About the Washington State Coalition for Language Access: WASCLA is an education and advocacy organization whose mission is to eliminate language barriers that prevent Washingtonians from accessing essential services. Our scope of work includes identifying needs and seeking solutions to assure effective language access services in all areas, including healthcare, through collaborative efforts between policy makers, advocates, interpreters, translators, service providers, and community members.
