About Us

We are the ATA-LD, the Literary Division of the American Translators Association. We are aim to connect ATA members working on literary translation or interested in the subject, regardless their working language. The LD was established in 1985 and has been working actively since then. As of February, 2014, it comprised 2,507 members, working in dozens of language pairs. Besides their translation activities, our members are teachers (from K-12 to graduate level), poets, journalists, and editors, to mention a few.

On each Annual Conference, we offer presentations, hold a networking event and an informal after-hours cafe where our members can share and showcase their work.

The division is run by a Leadership Council. If you want to learn more about it or want to participate, feel free to contact us.
