Call for Editor of Literary Division Newsletter

The ATA Literary Division invites applications for Editor of Source, the newsletter of the division, for the period of January 1, 2007 through December 31, 2009. The new editor should be prepared to begin work by January 1, 2007.

Editorship of Source is a prestigious opportunity for an individual with outstanding editing and proofreading skills as well as an interest and commitment to literary translation. Source is a significant part of the Literary Division with the purpose of providing a forum for literary translation activities, to connect the members of the Literary Division as a community, and to share our activities with others. Source is oriented toward publishing articles that relate to contemporary issues across the spectrum of literary translation and is transitioning to online publishing of three issues annually. The editor will be responsible for working with the LD Administrator and Assistant Administrator. Publishing guidelines will follow those established by the ATA.

Applications should include a curriculum vitae and a letter of application that outlines a vision statement for the newsletter, setting forth goals and plans for the content of the newsletter, three references with contact information, as well as a detailed statement on your skills and strengths in editing and experience in literary translation. Applications should be sent electronically via MS Word document to Enrica J. Ardemagni, LD Administrator, eardema@iupui.edu. The call for an editor will remain in effect until the position is filled. Nominations for candidates for this position will also be taken into consideration.
