It aims to address the unique aspects of game localization compared to other types of localization. The presenter will break down a typical &#8220;language pack&#8221; to show the various types of text within a game. There will be an in-depth discussion of localization bug testing and the challenges translators encounter when collaborating with game developers. Additionally, the importance of transcreation will be discussed, along with a look at a few well-known game localization memes. Finally, the presentation will explore the future of game localization, including how AI is, and isn\u2019t, changing the industry.<br \/>\nThose who attend the Zoom session live on March 2nd will be eligible for 1 ATA-approved CE point.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\">Presenters:<\/h4>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Tim Durgin (\u675c\u817e\u98de) is an ATA-certified Chinese-to-English translator based in the Washington DC area, with a primary focus on written translation. His expertise spans several key domains, including video games, politics, national security, and contracts. Beyond his freelance endeavors, Tim has amassed significant experience as a project manager, having contributed to teams at NetEase, Amazon, Google, and R2Games.
