Born and raised in Beijing, China, she moved to Canada at the age of 15. She graduated from the University of Toronto with a B.A. degree and holds a master\u2019s degree in conference interpreting (MCI) from York University. Luyi is an ATA-certified translator from English into Chinese and from Chinese into English. She is also an administrator of the Toronto Interpreters Practice Group, where she leverages her expertise to foster a supportive learning environment for fellow language professionals. She specializes in legal and business translations, editing, post-editing, proofreading, and medical and conference interpreting.\u00a0 She also volunteers for the Chinese Language Division (CLD) of the ATA. She graduated with an A.A.S. in Translation and Interpretation from Houston Community College and a Ph.D. in Chinese History from the University of California, Los Angeles. She grew up in Hong Kong and Beijing, and is currently living in Houston, Texas.
