  • Dr. Lin first thanked Aaron Hebenstreit for inviting him as the guest speaker for this year\u2019s ATA annual conference.<\/li>\n
  • He has been working hard to improve the interpreting studies, translation studies, and raise awareness among colleagues. He called for fellow interpreters and translators to be open-minded and stated that we need innovation since translation will be done differently in the future.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n

CLD 2020-2021<\/td>\nPency and Tianlu shared what we have done in the past year.<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We have a new logo designed by Shaoli Gu and a new website designed by Toni Xu.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 WeChat Official Account started by Liming Pals.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 CLD events hosted during the pandemic in June, July, and August.<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 CLD Membership Survey presented by Prudence. Prudence encouraged everyone to take the time to take the survey so that we can serve CLD members better.<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 ThreeWeChat Groups, one is ATA61 Conference Group, ATA CLD Members only group and ATA CLD Friends group<\/p>\n

6.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 June shared about the interviews she did in the past year, which were published in the newsletter. Podcast is our new adventure and Prudence will be the first guest of our first podcast.<\/p>\n

7.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Yifeng is our newsletter\/blog. We are looking for an Executive Editor or a group of editors.<\/td>\n

  • We encouraged members to continue to submit proposals.<\/li>\n
  • Yongmei made a suggestion about more regular cafes\/webinars to network, practice the delivery or talk about the proposals. Yongmei suggested a workshop with Kara Lund who is a voice and speech coach.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n
