Dear members,<\/h2>\n

Since our last Letter to Members last December<\/a>, the Interpreters Division has remained active in creating opportunities for member engagement.<\/span><\/p>\n

In February, we hosted an Interpreter Connections event on \u201cLanguage Access as a Growing Priority in Hospitals\u201d The Joint Commission’s <\/span>2026 National Performance Goals\u201d were front and center.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0In April, our Interpreter Connections event focused on \u201cRenewal: Spring Cleaning for Your Business\u201d, offering an opportunity to exchange ideas on cleaning up email inboxes, organizing files and paperwork, reconnecting with past clients, and taking a closer look at business goals and finances.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In June, division members gathered for \u201cBalancing Work as a Translator and Interpreter\u201d, a discussion on managing schedules, abilities needed in both professions, and the importance of teamwork.<\/span><\/p>\n

Looking ahead, our next Interpreter Connections event will be held on August 10 and will focus on \u201cInterpreting in K\u201312 Settings\u201d. We hope you will join us for another opportunity to connect with colleagues and learn from one another.<\/span><\/p>\n

We are also pleased to share that ATA approved our nomination of Josh Goldsmith as a Distinguished Speaker for ATA67.\u00a0 His nomination was submitted jointly with the Spanish Language Division. We look forward to sharing additional details about his presentation in the coming months.<\/span><\/p>\n

In preparation for ATA67, the division\u2019s Leadership Council conducted surveys to gather members’ feedback on conference programming and to nominate candidates for Distinguished Speaker. Your responses helped guide our planning efforts and ensure that future events address the interests and needs of our Division.<\/span><\/p>\n

As ATA prepares for elections this fall, we encourage members to verify their voting status. Voting members are eligible to vote in ATA elections, including the upcoming elections for<\/span> ATA Board and Treasurer positions<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are three ways to become an ATA Voting Member:<\/span><\/p>\n

ATA Certification Exam<\/b>
\n<\/b>Members who pass the<\/span> ATA Certification Exam<\/span><\/a> become Voting Members. With a direct voice in ATA, members can shape the future of the association and the profession.<\/span><\/p>\n

ATA Credentialed Interpreter Designation<\/b>
\n<\/b>Members who earn<\/span> ATA\u2019s Credentialed Interpreter<\/span><\/a> designation also become Voting Members. ATA members can highlight their directory listing with Credentialed Interpreter designations for conference, healthcare, and legal.<\/span><\/p>\n

Active Membership Review<\/b>
\n<\/b>This free application allows members to demonstrate professional engagement in translation and\/or interpreting by submitting the information required on the<\/span> ATA website<\/span><\/a> Applications are reviewed by ATA, and approved applicants are granted Voting Member status.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you are interested in becoming a Voting Member before this year\u2019s elections, we encourage you to review the requirements and application process on the ATA website:<\/span><\/p>\n
