The next FCICE examination to be administered is the Phase One Written Examination in 2012. For the first time, the NCSC has subcontracted with Prometric, Inc. for the administration of the FCICE examination by computer. After registering at this website, successful registrants will be provided the information necessary to contact Prometric to schedule a written exam at one of its many convenient testing locations around the country.<\/p>\n
Registration period: Register for the written examination between April 16 at 8:30 a.m. Eastern time and June 1 at 5 p.m. Eastern time. You must register during the open registration period.<\/p>\n
Testing window: Once you have successfully registered for the examination during open registration, you will be provided the contact information necessary to schedule your written examination with Prometric during a two-week testing window: August 6 through August 13 (Monday through Friday only).<\/p>\n
Prometric has over 250 testing locations for your scheduling convenience.<\/p>\n
PROGRAM MAILINGS TO END — WHITELIST OUR EMAIL ADDRESS<\/p>\n
The FCICE program will discontinue the practice of mailing admission letters, score reports, and other important information to candidates, effective January 1, 2013. To ensure that the email we send you ends up in your inbox and isn\u2019t mistakenly sent to the junk or spam folder, please whitelist our email address, which is fcice@ncsc.org. If you don\u2019t know how to whitelist our email address, read through the instructions provided on how to whitelist us with AOL, Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, and more.<\/p>\n
Even if your ISP or email program is not listed, with these instructions you should be able to figure out how to whitelist our email address. If you find email from fcice@ncsc.org in your spam or junk folder, please take that opportunity to tell your mail program that it is not spam by hitting the \u201cnot spam,\u201d \u201cnot junk,\u201d or other similar button, training your program to whitelist it.<\/p>\n
Exam Dates & Locations
\nThe next Spanish-English examination to be administered by the FCICE is the Phase One Written Examination in 2012.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Registration Opens: April 16, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. Eastern time
\n\u2022 Registration Closes: June 1, 2012 at 5 p.m. Eastern time
\n\u2022 Registration Fee: $175.00
\n\u2022 Registrations must be received by the deadline of June 1 at 5 p.m. Postmarks will not be accepted. Any registrations received after the registration deadline will not be accepted and will be returned to the candidate.
\n\u2022 Testing Window: August 6 through 10 and August 13 through 17, 2012.
\n\u2022 Refunds: A $75 processing fee will be deducted from any refund. In order to receive a partial refund, the cancellation request must be submitted in writing and received by NCSC by 5 p.m. Eastern time on July 13, 2012. Postmarks are not accepted. Refunds will not be issued to candidates who fail to appear for the examination.<\/p>\n
During open registration, candidates can register for the Phase One Written Examination. After successful registration, registrants will receive the information necessary to schedule a location, day, and time to take the examination at a Prometric testing center. The examination will be computer-administered.<\/p>\n
Prometric has over 250 testing locations around the country and in Puerto Rico. Once you have a FCICE identification number and proof of registration, you may go online to www.prometric.com to schedule your examination. You will have the opportunity to view all available testing locations and choose the one that is most convenient for you. Schedule your examination as early as possible after you\u2019ve registered to ensure that the location you desire isn\u2019t fully booked during the testing window dates (August 6-10 and August 13-17). All examinations must be scheduled by June 30, 2012.<\/p>\n
All candidates (with no additional fee) will have 15 minutes immediately prior to starting the examination to view a mini-tutorial and become accustomed to moving through a test. Just like with a paper-and-pencil test, candidates will have the opportunity to return to previous pages in the test and mark items for review. Candidates may also view the time remaining at any time during the test.<\/p>\n
