About the Presenter<\/p>\n
Kirsty Heimerl-Moggan is a course leader and senior lecturer for conference interpreting for the MA Interpreting and Translation at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan). She is currently working towards a PhD in the field of note-taking for interpreters.<\/p>\n
Kirsty has worked as a conference, business, and public service interpreter for 20 years. Her career has covered a wide range of settings, including international events such as G8\/EU meetings.<\/p>\n
She is the author of Note-taking for Public Service Interpreters and the director of Interp-Right Training Consultancy, an interpreter training company and publisher of interpreter training materials.<\/p>\n
Kirsty is a Chartered Interpreter\/Educator, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Linguists, Fellow of the Institute for Translation and Interpreting (ITI), and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She is a full Member of the Bundesverband der \u00dcbersetzer und Dolmetscher (BD\u00dc), the VKD BD\u00dc (German National Association of Conference Interpreters), and several other professional bodies.<\/p>\n
