Founded in 1999, the ILD is a division of the American Translators Association (ATA), the world\u2019s largest professional association of translators and interpreters, with more than 8,000 members in over 100 countries.<\/p>\n
ATA supports the professional development of language professionals and promotes the value of translation and interpreting across a wide range of fields and industries.<\/p>\n
The Italian Language Division brings together ATA members who share a professional or personal interest in the Italian language and culture. Our members work in translation, interpreting, localization, education, and related language professions, translating both from and into Italian.<\/p>\n
The Division serves as a way to connect members and foster a sense of community within the larger association by offering opportunities for professional growth, collaboration, and networking. Through events, online initiatives, and shared resources, the ILD encourages members to exchange knowledge, build professional relationships, and stay engaged with developments in the language industry.<\/p>\n

You can become a member of the ILD by selecting the division on the membership forms when first applying for ATA membership or when renewing.<\/p>\n
