He was one of the guest speakers at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/abrates.com.br\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brazilian Association of Translators and Interpreters (ABRATES)<\/a>\u00a0Conference, which welcomed\u00a0800 attendees last weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Rumsey talked to a full audience about the\u00a0<b>U.S. Market for Translators and Interpreters<\/b>. He also explained the importance of being an ATA member, the certification exam and how the Portuguese Language Division works.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, Brazil holds the second largest population of ATA members outside the U.S., coming right after Canada. She has a degree in translation and interpretation from Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Alumni and a bachelor\u2019s degree in Education from the Pontifical Catholic University of S\u00e3o Paulo (PUC-SP). In her 16 years as a professional translator, editor and proofreader, she has translated fiction and non-fiction books, as well as magazine articles for many publishing houses. Additionally, she produces and reviews editorial, institutional, and digital content for several companies.
