A view from Brazil: The most common challenges of translation and interpretation in court. <\/span>Translators and interpreters play an important role in guaranteeing effective communication, spreading knowledge across borders, and connecting citizens from different cultures. Therefore, being a court translator and interpreter in South America is more than being bilingual. It requires deep cultural and linguistic understanding, expert knowledge of legal terminology, the ability to communicate clearly, and quick and accurate evaluation in order to choose a translation option for a word, depending on the scenario, because a wrong word can ruin the whole translation and cause extremely serious problems for an offender. At the mature stage of a professional life, you are capable of being consistent enough with language so that those challenges won\u2019t scare you away.
