The ATA Conference is always a huge event with many parallel activities. All attendees should know that having a game plan is better than just drifting through the sessions. With so much going on, you might feel lost and simply miss presentations that are right up your alley.<\/p>\n

We have prepared this\u00a0PLD Highlights Guide<\/strong>\u00a0that you can adapt and expand. It is by no means exhaustive, but we hope it\u2019s helpful for those interested in the Portuguese Language Division. The full schedule is on the\u00a0Conference website<\/a>. This schedule is subject to change, so stay tuned.<\/p>\n

SPECIAL EVENT \u2013 LEWIS GALANTI\u00c8RE AWARD<\/strong><\/p>\n

This year, the Lewis Galanti\u00e8re Award will be awarded to Katrina Dodson for her translation into English of the\u00a0Complete Stories of Clarice Lispector<\/a><\/i><\/strong>\u00a0from Brazilian Portuguese. It is an honor and a joy to see literature in Portuguese be recognized abroad thanks to this very talented translator. Let\u2019s all show her our support. Venue and time TBD.<\/p>\n

IMPORTANT GENERAL TIPS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Conference App \u2015<\/strong>\u00a0Only registered attendees can access the app. Once you\u00a0register<\/a>, you will receive your username and password. If you have already registered for the conference, download the\u00a0conference app here<\/a>. Remember to complete your profile and upload your r\u00e9sum\u00e9 before traveling to San Francisco. The app is a great way to navigate the conference because you can create your own schedule and connect to people. It allows you to find out about last-minute changes, view handouts and take notes.<\/p>\n

Social media \u2015<\/strong>\u00a0If you are using social media, use hashtag\u00a0#ata57<\/strong>\u00a0for the general conference, and\u00a0#pldata57<\/strong>\u00a0for your get-togethers with PLD members. We would love to see pictures! Our colleagues who are not attending this year will thank you for making a little bit of the conference available for them. Zumba \u2015<\/strong>\u00a0Did you know that you can start your day with zumba? PLD member Cris Silva is the zumba instructor! Thursday to Saturday, 6:15 am \u2013 7:15 am<\/p>\n
