ATA\u2019s 55th Annual Conference<\/a>\u00a0is taking place this year in beautiful Chicago from November 5th to the 8th. Division officers have recently received a preliminary list of sessions, and I\u2019d like to share what we know about the exciting Portuguese track at this point.<\/p>\n

Brazilian, Portuguese and American speakers will cover a wide range of topics, from medical translation and interpreting to tips for young interpreters, legal and soccer terminology, literary translation and Portuguese language tips.<\/p>\n

We\u2019d like to thank the presenters for the time and effort put into preparing these sessions. We all know how hectic a translator\u2019s or interpreter\u2019s schedule can be, so we really appreciate your participation. Special thanks to Angela Levy, who has kindly agreed to be our Distinguished Speaker this year. A quick\u00a0Google search<\/a>\u00a0will give you an idea of how much this pioneering T&I professional has to share with us!<\/p>\n

As usual, we\u2019ll also have PLD members presenting sessions in other tracks. We\u2019ll post a list of these in the near future, and will include other sessions that are related to Portuguese.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also the\u00a0Division Open House<\/a>, which happens every year right after the Welcome Reception. You\u2019ll be able to mingle with fellow PLD members, welcome newcomers and get to know our division, while enjoying some yummy treats! J<\/p>\n
