Read it now and get working!<\/p>\n<p>Coming up with a good idea and proving to the conference organizers that you know what you are talking about are challenges that only you can tackle, but below is a checklist we think will set you up for success.<\/p>\n<p>[ \u00a0 ] Watch these free webinars with\u00a0great tips! Focus specifically on your category of interest.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.atanet.org\/conf\/2015\/bylanguage.php#P-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Miami<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.atanet.org\/conf\/2014\/bylanguage.php#P-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chicago<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.atanet.org\/conf\/2013\/bylanguage.php#P-2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">San Antonio<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[ \u00a0 ] Talk to people who have presented before. Many can be easily found in our\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/76268929796\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PLD Facebook Group<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>[ \u00a0 ] Write a first draft.<\/p>\n<p>[ \u00a0 ] Ask a fellow translator or interpreter you trust to proofread and critique what you wrote. It\u2019s always good to have a fresh pair of eyes.<\/p>\n<p>[ \u00a0 ] Make changes to your proposal after letting it rest for a few days.<\/p>\n<p>[ \u00a0 ]\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.atanet.org\/events\/proposal.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Submit it<\/a><\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Remember:<\/strong>\u00a0stay positive and don\u2019t be upset if your idea is not accepted. Rejection doesn\u2019t always happen because your proposal wasn\u2019t good; sometimes the timing wasn\u2019t right or someone else had a very similar idea.
