We\u2019re back this week with three new posts containing information about PLD members who shared their knowledge with attendees at the ATA 56th Annual Conference this year. Today we\u2019d like to share the slides used\u00a0by\u00a0Giovana Boselli<\/strong>\u00a0during\u00a0her session: \u201cAn Alternative Tool to Help Linguists Release Anxiety<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Abstract:
\n<\/strong>The speaker will discuss how the Emotional Freedom Technique can be used to deal with the anxiety (or fear) some professionals experience before an interpreting assignment, during a stressful project, or before an approaching deadline. After this session, attendees will have the information they need to use a simple but powerful tool to find the peace and confidence needed to achieve their goal. The session will include a 10-minute guided practice. Copies of the practice transcript will be available.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Giovana Boselli is an experienced language consultant with over 15 years of translation experience in technical and business fields. She has worked as an independent contractor and in-house, both in the U.S. and Brazil. She has been an ATA-certified English>Portuguese translator since 2008. She has a B.A. in translation from the University of Brasilia, Brazil, and a certificate in contemporary American business practices from Baruch College, New York.\u00a0
