ATA has established a certification program that allows translators to demonstrate that they meet certain standards of the translation profession. Translators who pass the examination are certified by the ATA in a specific language pair and direction (from or into English). Certification exams within the Nordic languages are currently available for only Danish-to-English, Swedish-to-English and English-to-Finnish.

Passing the exam and becoming ATA-certified is an opportunity for individuals to demonstrate their professional competence and enhance their business image. You can read more about the ATA certification process at http://www.atanet.org/certification/aboutcert_overview.php.
