A new year has begun and I’d like to start off wishing you all a happy and prosperous 2018. Hopefully, not just a year filled with translating and interpreting, but also plenty of happiness, good health and good times. We can look back on a very good year for our Division. We grew from 93 members in the beginning of 2017 to 267 members at this moment. It’s the hard work of the Leadership Council and support of the members that made the DLD into what it is today . . .

And especially when we don’t have a hard deadline for completing a project it is even more of a challenge. But after attending our small but fierce Dutch Language Division’s first birthday at the ATA Conference in Washington DC, I am all excited to fire up the keyboard and share regular posts on all things DLD and Dutch . . .

The month was November 2016 – the location San Francisco, California. Seasoned ATA members know the event I’m talking about: the annual ATA Conference. And it was not an ordinary one for us Dutchies, since we celebrated the arrival of our very own Dutch Language Divison. All during 2016 a handful of my esteemed colleagues had been working very hard to get our show on the road . . .
