Step-by-Step Guide to Search the Directory
Step 1: Visit the ATA Language Services Directory.
If you’re on the ATA homepage, click the “Find a Language Professional” button at the top-right corner.
Step 2: You’ll arrive at the Language Services Directory page.
- Step 2.1: Scroll down until you see the “Start Your Search” section.
- Step 2.2: Begin by entering your language combination:
- Target Language: the language of the document produced or the language the interpreter will deliver.
- Source Language: the original language of the document or speaker.

- Step 2.3: In the “Search by keyword or name” field, we recommend typing:
“legal translator” or “professional legal interpreter” to narrow your results to specialists in law. - Step 2.4: Use the “Location” field (to the right) if you prefer to search for professionals in a specific country, state, or city — or within a certain radius.
- Step 2.5: Under “Service Type,” select the services you need (e.g., Translation or Interpretation).
Step 3: Once all filters are selected, click “Submit.”
