A new year, a new website, a new listserv and a new Leadership Council!

January 11, 2018 By ATA LTD

The Language Technology Division is pleased to launch its new website. Please note that it is under a new URL: https://www.ata-divisions.org/LTD.
The new website uses the standard ATA template. Since most of the content on the old website was outdated, we decided not to migrate it and limit the new website to just the essential information about the Division.

As you may have noticed, we also decided to move our listserv from Yahoo to Google Groups. You can find the new listserv at: https://groups.google.com/d/forum/ata-ltd.
If you haven’t joined yet, simply click on “Apply to join group”. Don’t forget to include your full name!

Finally, we’d like to introduce the new Leadership Council:
Conference Coordinator: Kathy Byrd
Social Media Manager: Flora Zhang
Webmaster: Mark Lewis

Feel free to contact us at divisionLTD@atanet.org if you have any questions or suggestions.

We wish you all a successful 2018!

  • ATA TEKTalk will be hosting LanguageCheckAI with the title Hidden Risk in AI Translation – Why Review Is the New Bottleneck on May 14, 2026 at 12:00PM EDT. This webinar examines why traditional review processes struggle to keep up with AI-driven production and where quality risks are most likely to appear. Through a discussion, the focus will be on exploring common failure points in AI-assisted translation pipelines and understanding why “good enough” machine output can still introduce costly errors. Free for ATA members to attend. Non-members can attend for a nominal fee. Register here!
  • Save the date! ATA67, ATA's Annual Conference, will take place in San Francisco from Oct. 28-31, 2026.
