Bridget Hylak, CT, CI, MTC, is a globally recognized leader in the language industry with more than 30 years of experience spanning translation, interpreting, language technology, and AI. An industry spokesperson, international speaker, author, consultant, and trainer, she is known for bridging historically siloed sectors across language services, technology, and public policy.
Her expertise has been featured by TIME Magazine, NPR, The Huffington Post, and other major outlets. She co-authored federal guidance on Machine Interpreting for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and serves on multiple committees focused on language access, AI, and IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility).
Hylak is a regular contributor to Multilingual magazine, Chief Industry Strategist for several AI-driven startups, and an advisor on leading language technology platforms. She is the retired Administrator of the American Translators Association’s Language Technology Division (2021–2025) and currently serves on ATA’s IPAC and Public Relations Committees, as well as the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania’s Language Monitoring and Evaluation Team.
A Stanford University graduate in Broadcast Journalism and Spanish and Portuguese, with postgraduate work in Argentina and Moscow, she is a certified court interpreter and ATA-certified translator. As Senior Consultant at TongueTEK Language Consulting, her work centers on AI ethics, responsible language technology adoption, and strategic advisory for public and private sector stakeholders.
