Carola F. Berger, PhD, CT is an ATA-certified (German into English and English into German) translator with a PhD in physics and a master’s degree in engineering physics. She specializes in the translation of technical patents, scientific texts, and patent litigation documents in the fields of robotics, quantum physics, electronics, artificial intelligence, engineering, and related subjects. Carola also helps individual clients with the translation of their personal vital documents and educational transcripts from German into English for US authorities and universities. She owns and operates CFB Scientific Translations LLC, headquartered in California.
Carola is currently the Webmaster of ATA’s Language Technology Division, ATA’s Science and Technology Division, and ATA’s Law Division. From 2017 to 2025, she served as Webmaster on the Board of Directors of the Northern California Translators Association (now the California Association of Professional Interpreters and Translators, CAPIT).
