Session presented by Heike Holthaus, Nadine Edwards, Nicholas Hartmann and Karen Tkaczyk
ATA59 NOLA: great sessions, excellent speakers, fun people, interesting city, great food. And on top of all that I had the great pleasure of presenting a session with my esteemed colleagues Karen, Nicholas and Nadine on my favorite topic: patents.
The session started with a presentation about the patent system, patent language and translating patents, presented by yours truly. Nicholas, Karen and Nadine then presented on some language-specific difficulties for English, French and Japanese, respectively. They shared some tricky problems and their solutions with the audience. We had so much information to share that we ran out of time – our apologies to the audience.
When Liz asked if we would share the slides with the members of the Law Division, we all agreed. So, in case you missed the session or did not get a chance to download the slides and the resources document from the conference App, here they are.
I am looking forward to your comments, critique, suggestions and/or questions. Until then…
…happy translating,
Heike
