Member Feedback for ATA Board of Directors

January 23, 2016 By IDwebmaster

Hello ID colleagues!

ATA_logo_web_division-sidebarThe ATA Board is meeting next weekend in Atlanta, and we would love to have your feedback for the “comments heard from the membership” portion of the meeting. During that time, we write your comments on flip charts that are then logged in a spreadsheet where we track comments and requests from members. We count on you to let us know what’s working, what needs improvement, and how we can best meet your needs in the future.

Lots of changes within ATA have happened in response to member requests. For example, the CI (credentialed interpreter) designation for the ATA directory is being implemented this year. Also, you asked us for more ways to connect with ATA and access information online and via social media. We now have a fully revamped YouTube channel, where you can not only watch wrapup and preview videos for the ATA conference, but access our free webinars (yes, right there on YouTube!). So if you want to learn about how to propose a conference session, how to resolve ethical dilemmas during an interpreting assignment, or what the ATA mentoring program offers, check out the new channel:

And ATA also now has a podcast: PR committee member Matt Baird recently interviewed David Rumsey and me about the Miami conference, what’s ahead for San Francisco, and the new ataTalk listserve. That’s here:

If you have feedback for the Board, you can send it to me or any other Board member, and all of our contact information is here:

Thanks and have a great weekend,
