These are organizations and institutions related to literary translation in the United States:

American Translators Association: Membership organization for professional translators and interpreters.

The American Literary Translators Association: Membership organization for literary translators.

Literary translation collectives: In many places, collectives or other groups of literary translators have formed to support each other’s work and advocate for specific literatures. This list was compiled by ALTA.

Boston University Translation Seminar: Includes a lecture series open to the public and videos of past lectures.

The following organizations include sections or services for literary translators, but do not consider translation their main focus:

The Authors Guild: Advocates for the rights of writers by supporting free speech, fair contracts, and copyright.

PEN America: Offers a translation model contract and the yearly PEN/Heim translation grants.

Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) welcomes translators of children’s literature.

Association of Writers and Writing Programs (AWP) hosts a huge annual conference with translation panels organized by ALTA and a book fair attended by many publishers of translation.

Outside the United States:

Emerging Translators Network (ETN): a forum and support network for early-career literary translators working primarily into English; started in the UK but open to translators anywhere.

Society of Authors Translators Association (UK): The Translators Association (TA) provides a source of expert advice for individual literary translators and is also a collective voice representing the profession as a whole.
