Welcome the Year of the Snake with a special virtual gathering alongside the CLD family!

CLD Happy Hour & Talent Showcase for the Year of the Snake (January 2025)


Join us for a warm and engaging 1.5-hour freestyle discussion and networking session, where you can connect or reconnect with fellow language professionals, share thoughts on 2024, and get inspired for a successful 2025!

You do not need to be a member of the ATA to attend this event.

No Continuing Education point will be awarded for attending this event.


This CLD Happy Hour is your chance to share a hobby or skill that you’re passionate about—something beyond translation. Each participant will have 3 to 4 minutes to showcase their talent in any format they choose: PowerPoint, video, photos, or live (online) demonstrations.

From DIY crafts, gardening, cooking, calligraphy, painting, magic, to musical performances or stage acts—anything goes!

    I’ll present a selection of Mandarin tongue twisters. I began learning Mandarin in college 40 years ago. Native speakers always have appreciated my pronunciation.

    Regarding my services, I do translation, interpreting (and VO is advertised too), editing of English, and language instruction.
