ATA Interpreters Division

Letter to members – December 2025

Dear members,

Administrator Christina Green has stepped down, and we would like to thank her for her leadership and contribution to this Division over the last several years. Assistant Administrator Daniela E. Obregón now serves as Interim Administrator, and Milena Calderari-Waldron now serves as Interim Assistant Administrator through October 2026 when new leadership will be elected in accordance with ATA Division’s Governing Policy. Together with our Leadership Council, we look forward to serving our members.

At the ATA 66th Annual Conference in Boston, the Interpreters Division co-hosted an off-site event together with the Medical Division. We were able to provide an affordable option to have the opportunity to explore Boston’s heritage while networking with colleagues.

The Interpreters Division Annual Meeting was held virtually on October 2nd. At that time, the division’s Leadership Council presented a recap of the webinars that had been held during the year, Interpreter Connections, and information about ATA66. You can read the minutes of that meeting here.

We look forward to 2026 hoping to provide you with more networking and continuing education opportunities, such as Interpreter Connections.

Interpreter Connections events in 2026 will be held on the second Monday of the even-numbered months, at 5:00 pm PT / 8:00 pm ET.

Our planned topics for 2026 include:

  • February 9: Language Access as a Growing Priority in Hospitals
  • April 13: Renewal: Spring Cleaning for Your Business
  • June 8: Balancing Work as a Translator and Interpreter
  • August 10: Interpreting in K–12 Settings
  • October 12: How to Promote your Business, How to Make the Conference Give you Strength and Business for the Next Year
  • December 14: The importance of Taking Stock of the Year

Please note that topics may be adjusted if pressing issues arise.
We invite you to stay in touch with the Division by joining our discussion group and by following us on our blog, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and X. Happy Holidays!

Milena Calderari-Waldron, Interim Assistant Administrator
