The National Institute for Coordinated Healthcare  is offering an  Advanced Training Series consists of multiple workshops.

Each module is designed to develop new skills, and enhance existing ones, in intermediate to advanced areas of the medical interpreting profession.

Participants will learn the specific characteristics of practicing in advanced settings and will be equipped with techniques, terminology, and strategies to reach the next level in their profession, and maintain the integrity of the Standards of Practice.

  1. 1.     Advanced Medical Terminology: Specialty Settings (9:00am-11:00am)

                  Cardiology, ER, Orthopaedics, Pharmacology.

  1. 2.     Bridging to Simultaneous (11:15am-1:15 pm)

                  An Introduction to Developing your Simultaneous Interpreting Skills .

  1. 3.     Errors in Medical Interpretation (2:00 pm – 4:00 pm)

                  How to Avoid and Correct Potentially Dangerous Mistakes.

  1. 4.     Ethical Dilemmas in Medical Interpreting (4:15 pm-6:15 pm)

                 Making difficult decisions under pressure.

Participants will earn 1 ATA CEU per classroom contact hour
