Description:

This presentation offers an insightful introduction to game localization, with a special focus on Chinese-to-English L10N. It aims to address the unique aspects of game localization compared to other types of localization. The presenter will break down a typical “language pack” to show the various types of text within a game. There will be an in-depth discussion of localization bug testing and the challenges translators encounter when collaborating with game developers. Additionally, the importance of transcreation will be discussed, along with a look at a few well-known game localization memes. Finally, the presentation will explore the future of game localization, including how AI is, and isn’t, changing the industry.
Those who attend the Zoom session live on March 2nd will be eligible for 1 ATA-approved CE point.
